The Kentucky Sesquicentinnial Commission on the Civil War is hosting a Civil War essay contest for Kentucky High School students this year. The essay is to address Kentucky's place in the Civil war and may include key battles in Kentucky, the effects of thewar on Kentuckians and contributions maade by African Americans.
