Cold War Politics

Greetings all!  I hope that you are enjoying the new information you are learning about the Cold War. A few days ago you were asked in a bell ringer if you would support the rebels or the leader of nation. After much discussion we have once again come upon the same question.  You did a great job supporting your answers during that discussion but today we are faced with a similar question.

Click on the link below and read the article titled
"Former Foes, U.S. and Russia Pledge to Work Together on Syrian Solution"

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2013/05/former-foes-u-s-and-russia-pledge-to-work-together-on-syria-solution/

Please take time to think about this information in light of all that we have discussed concerning the Cold War.
1. Should we get involved and arm the rebels of Syria?
2. Should we support our political leaders in their decision at this time?
3. What are the risks involved in helping the Syrian Rebels?
4. What are the benefits of helping the Syrian Rebels?

If you find another article and want to share, please post here or bring it to my attention in class.

Thanks and Enjoy!

Mrs. Sullivan
